Lindemanns - Berlin

A fine hotel with sleek rooms, fine breakfast buffet and excellent service. Well positioned for two U stations nearby (Yorckstrasse & Kleistpark) and a walk up to Potsdamer Platz. Small issue of the noise from the traffic in the major street below (Potsdamer Strasse) if you have a window open and the fact that the floor to ceiling windows give a good view in from the equally high building across the street - beware if you pull the curtains open to let the sun pour in without putting your dressing gown on first!

Definitely one of the best hotels for the value anywhere -- sophisticated design, impeccable cleanliness and friendly staff. Rooms are very bright and though basic in appointment are very pleasant to stay in. Very good breakfast and pleasant lobby area. The neighborhood, though safe, is not one in which many tourists will wish to dine and drink, causing one to walk the two blocks to the nearest U-bahn and travel to other neighhborhoods even for a quick bite -- though this inconvenience may explain the great price for a really nice hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in July 2009. The multi-lingual front desk was nothing but kind, professional, and quick-responding to our every need. Parking behind the hotel is just 8 euros. The hotel is just 2 blocks from the Berlin U-Bahn Bulowstrasse U2 line. It was also only a 15 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz as well. Lots of nice restaurants (Turkish, German, Iranian, Greek, Seafood etc.) within a 5-10 minute walk. There is a great fruit stand at a Turkish grocery store just the next block over. We did see some "ladies of the night" around the block, but they and their clients and not bother anyone.

Everything is so good. I highly suggest this hotel to everyone.

Recently stayed in a Penthouse room with my wife and granddaughter. The grounds, hotel, and room were immaculate, and in excellent condition. What really truly impressed me about this hotel was the staff. Everyone at reception, especially Veronika and Stefan, genuinely cared that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They went way out of their way to be helpful. If they gave out 6 stars for hotels and staff, I would give them a 6.

I was a little scared at first because of the lack of reviews on this hotel; but man I am glad I did. This hotel is phenominal! beautiful everywhere, new everything and the bed I wish I could have taken home for myself. The staff was great in answering questions and special requests. The only thing I would warn is not to go to potsdammer station/stop from the train.... it is much more south than that. In our 3 week trip to Europe, it was the best hotel and the cheapest!

Lindemann's is a lovely hotel. Unlike many European hotels, Lindemann's actually far exceeded it's three-star rating. If you can afford it, choose the penthouse room--you won't regret it. The only downside is that the neighborhood is not that pretty and has few attractions; but the hotel is only about three blocks from a metro so that deficiency is easily overcome. A great stay!

This was perhaps the best hotel I have ever stayed in, regardless of price. The rooms looked like something out of "Architectural Digest"..

I've just stayed at the Lindeman for the third time this year and will continue to use the hotel again and again. I’m was totally amazed at the quality of hotel, totally refurbished, Flat screen TV's, walk in Slate showers and a real tasteful decor of the highest quality.

Our stay at Lindemann's added so much to our time spent in Berlin. The staff was extremely accommodating - always attentive to our needs and questions, offering advice regarding dining, transportation and sites. Our room was always inviting and very clean. As suggested above, a great room for the money.

Very simple and clean Hotel with no amenities, no Gym and on a main street that make it noise. Price is just ok for what they offer. Location could be better but if have a car garage is few Euros per night!

Brand new hotel (Sept 2008) - stayed March 2009 - smart design - excellent service, v good location with bus stop outside (5 mins to Potsdammer Platz, frequent buses) & 2 tube stops within 5ish mins walk.V clean, and fantastic & generous breakfast. Easy to get to Schonefeld Airport - walk 5 mins to tube station, then direct ride to end of line & 5 min bus link. Staff v helpful too. Would go back.

The first impression i had of this hotel is wow it looks absolutely incredible with the luxury modern furnishings. It seems quite out of place for the downtown area in which it resides. The rooms are very clean, modern and luxurious. You get a tv and wireless internet, ironing board and desk which is ok for the price. Breakfast is not included, and it is a shame that breakfast and afternoon is all they provide. The hotel is a short walk away from Bulowstrasse station.

We paid a little extra to stay in one of the top floor rooms and were really pleased. The room was very large with great windows across the end and a large shared balcony that runs the length of the hotel in front of all of the top-floor rooms. The wireless Internet worked great. It was less expensive to buy it in three-day blocks. (I think it was around 12 or 15 euros for three days when we were there in January 2009.) There were a few very minor annoyances: no alarm clock, no iron, no water glasses in the room, and only liquid soap. These minor drawbacks weren't significant, just something to be aware of. The staff were wonderful. I definitely would stay here again.

Excellent hotel and value

I stayed in Berlin for 3 nights in the Lindemann and it was the best 3 nights of my 2 week trip. The room was amazing. Spend the extra 20 dollars for the penthouse. It has two flat screens, a king size bed, a huge terrace, an AMAZING bathroom with a HUGE shower. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and the best part is the staff was so friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfast was spectacular. There really is no better value for your money in Berlin. It is very close to bus stations and about a 2 block walk to the T bahn. Fantastic hotel.

We looked at several places in Berlin and decided to take a chance on a new hotel that had no previous ratings. We liked the pictures, the location and the price and decided to book. Boy, were we in heaven. We had a penthouse room overlooking Potsdamer Strasse and it was incredible. The room was cozy with shag carpet, a super comfy bed, 2 TVs, gloss-white cabinets and accents and a huge slate slower...the kind that 2 people can fit into. Breakfast everyday was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My only recommendation for the hotel (and they are still new) is to have a restaurant or serve meals in the evening. You can get drinks/snacks, but having a larger menu would help travelers in making sure they have something to eat. As a whole, this hotel was one of the best we've stayed in and the staff were so helpful and kind. Cheers... Jake and Joe

We stayed in the Lindemanns hotel on Potsdammer Strasse in early Nov this hotel is extremely new three months old when we went and very good Extremely clean and modern cleans lines etc Rooms are large unfussy and clean and bathrooms are great well ours was we had a large wet room shower Staff we really really helpful all speaking great English we forgot to take Euro adaptors and they were only to happy to loan some free of change The Hotel is central to most things and we walked to Potsdammer place most days about fifften twenty min walk but the hotel will call cabs if need be The surrounding area does look a bit grey at first but this is not the case Make sure that you use the staffs extensive knowledge of Berlin and places to go restaurants etc to the full we spent a whole night in the bar talking to the barman about life in East berlin when he was small and all the best places to go now etc and learnt more than we could from any guide book PS the bar is open all night long and drinks are cheaper than most bars around three Euros for a large beer Overall we would defiantly go back to this hotel as very has a great stay

Excellent Chic Hotel; Excellent Value; Friendly Staff; Great Location! I recommend you to get the rate that includes breakfast ; it is worth it! Be open and assimilate culture. Note: Soap available in the bathroom sink is the same soap that is available to shower. However, there is no place or container in the shower area. I recommend you pour some soap into a small towel and take it with you into the shower.

The location aside - this is not central Berlin but a rather depressing street lined with doner shops and Eastern European girls - this hotel is a gem. Boutique style, super friendly staff, clean and this at a very reasonable price. Bus directly from Potsdamer Platz, will definately come back on my next trip.

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The room was very clean and obviously new (oct 2008). The hotel staff were very nice and accomodated. I did find the price a bit steep.

Lindemann's staff were very helpful eager to assist us with our various enquiries. The rooms were clean esthetically and literally but no frills - no shampoo/shower gel/no bathrobes/ no water glasses in the room and annoying locks to get into the rooms themselves. There were tea and coffee facilities but it wasn't made clear whether this was self service or not, even late at night. Rooms on the Potsdamer Strasse side mean for privacy reasons you always have to have the curtains drawn as they are floor to ceiling. Beds a touch too small.

Had a great time at Lindemanns. Is in an area of West Berlin that is being spruced up a bit and this place is the best thing there. Very attractive black and white rooms, plasma TVs, comfy beds, walk in showers and friendly staff. Only a short walk to 3 different U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations and only 3/4 stops from the centre. Breakfast isn't really worth it but there are plenty of cafes nearby.

A smart, budget hotel with enthusiastic staff - but the management have made a couple of penny-pinching decisions which marr the experience of the millions they must have invested in building the place. The bathrooms have no soap, showergel or shampoo in the shower, just a soap dispenser right across the room by the basin. The idea seems to be that you run across the room mid shower to keep lathering up. Odd. Also as well as no minibar (fair enough - the hotel has no pretensions) there are no glasses of any kind in the rooms so you can't have a drink of water other than slurping from the tap. Also odd. Breakfast is the typical German "Reichhaltiges Fruehstuecksbuffet" - shorthand for loads of bread, cheese, cereals, fruit etc etc and very nice coffee. The hotel is brand new (I'm writing this in September '08) so maybe they'll iron these quibbles out but my guess is it's a parsimonious accountant's work which leaves the overall impression of the place a little tainted.

Beliggenhed god. Super personale. Dejlige værelser med store vinduer til gade og lys. Sengene lige skumgummiagtige nok. Havde en tendens til at svede i løbet af natten.

Spændende hotel, med en interessant indretning som er gennemført fra ende til anden! Hele personalet var utrolig venligt og det virkede absolut ikke påtaget! Så alt i alt, et s.... godt hotel til prisen!

Hotellet centralt beliggende i forhold til transport til andre områder af byen. Meget venlig betjening. Havde problemer med låsesystemet til værelset på trods af god information herom. Stort og lækkert udvalg til morgenmaden.

Although I stayed many different hotels all over the world, I need to confess that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed. This is a very very clean hotel with modern furnitures in it. This hotel is even better than most of the 5 star hotels. It is also well connected to public transportation. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel and it is very convenient to go to city center by bus. The hotel is also in the middle of 3 different subway stations which makes the transportation very easy.The only disadvantage of the hotel might be the location. It is not very close to the city center but it is not far away as well, it is only 6 metro stations away from the Alexanderplatz.

Flotte værelser i sort og hvidt. Ingen tekst TV på fjerneren, ingen payTV. Restauranten er møbleret med flotte designermøbler, men man sidder ad h til idem, så det er ikke afslappende at sidde med morgenkaffen. Men er man til meget moderne minmalistiske omgivelser, så er det helt sikkert et hotel man falder for.

This is a clean, modern hotel, close to the centre of the city. It is right by public transport, and the staff are very polite and helpful. Superb value for money.

Vi så kun receptionen og nåede til skranken, hvor receptionisten orienterede os om overbooking, og at vi overført til andet hotel. Som kompensation fik vi en flaske champagne. Vores indtryk er, at det er stedets policy. Vores rejse fik ikke det forventede indhold, fordi vi måtte indskrænke Bauhaus- og Corbusierudstillingerne til en enkelt dag.

Lækkert nyt hotel, forholdsvis tæt på centrum, dog i et mindre attraktivt kvarter. Det tager ca 10 min at gå til den nærmeste togstation og der går busser lige ude foran hotellet. Værelserne er spritnye, rummelige og lydisolerede. Morgenmaden er ganske ok - ikke en man ville køre efter, men heller ikke særlig dyr (10 euro).

Skønt livsstilsværelse med aircondition på 5 sal. God og særdeles høflig betjening. Dejlig og velsmagende morgegbuffet. Super med hotelparkeringsplads. Kort oafsrtand og nem adgang til offentlige transportmidler. Hyggeligt "latiner område" ned af sidegaden Goebenstrasse. God Berlintur Hanne og Peter

The hotel is nice and all even if standard looking, but it is clean and comfortable and the staff really make everything they can to make your stay good.

Van maandag t/m vrijdag in dit hotel aan de potsdamerstrase verbleven. Mooi hotel met overheerlijke douche, vriendelijk engels sprekend personeel. Hotel ligt in een buurt met veel turkse winkeltjes/bakkerijen/kebabzaken (geen vervelende sfeer) in de nabijheid van bus/metrostation/trein. Op een half uur loopafstand van bv de brandenburger tor en reichstag.

Arriving at the hotel Lindemann's in Berlin the first impression one gets is that of walking into a high street design shop. Overall the service was good. One could sense that the staff had received training in the steps of service. The room was very good. Nice furnishing, clean and a chilled ambience. As a design hotel Lindemann's does a very good job of giving the guest a different experience. Though I would like to have seen a minibar and some room service.

Pletfrit værelse/badeværelse og lækker, enkel indretning uden Monet-plakater. Morgenmaden er lidt dyr, men er værd at prøve en enkelt morgen pga. det store udvalg. Receptionen mødte os altid med et smil.

Dejligt, nyt og lækkert indrettet hotel i VestBerlin. Ligger i gåafstand til Potsdamers Platz. God morgenbuffet. Virkelig søde personaler. Rigtig god oplevelse. Vi kan varmt anbefale det!

Hotel is gelegen op uitstekende locatie als het om bereikbaarheid gaat. Drie verschillende stations van U bahn of S bahn op 5 minuten loopafstand, waarmee de hele stad feitelijk goed bereisd kan worden. De omgeving van het hotel zelf is niet bijzonder, maar ook niet vervelend. Het hotel is vrij nieuw, en dat is ook nog duidelijk te zien. Inmiddels is er ook shampoo in de douches :) Wij hadden een zeer ruime kamer, met mooie badkamer. Vriendelijk personeel. Heel goed ontbijtbuffet. Kortom, een aanrader!

Wij zaten op de 5e verdieping aan de achterzijde van het hotel, en dus de rustige zijde. Het personeel sprak zeer goed Engels. De bus halte is voor het hotel wat zeer efficent is. Bus tickets en kaarten van de stad zijn bij de balie beschikbaar. Al met al een zeer goed hotel, schoon en nieuw met vriendelijke bediening.

Vi fandt hotellet på nettet og har aldrig været i Berlin før, vidste derfor ikke hvordan det lå i forhold til alt det man gerne vil se. Hotellet er super duper. Vi havde et livsstilsværelse som var stort, flot, rent, moderne og selve hotellet virker helt nyt. Sikken en morgenmads buffet. Der var alt man kunne ønske. Bus er der lige uden for døren, som kan bringe en til alle de steder man skal se. Personalet er venligt og meget hjælpsomt. Vi vælger helt sikkert samme hotel næste gang vi skal besøge Berlin.

Bodde 4 nätter i april i penthouse. Var helt kanon, stor svit med balkong till samma pris som ett vanligt 5 stjärningt hotel i Berlin men detta var mycket mer personligt och mysigt. Välpåläst och hjälpsam personal, inga problem med engelskan som anners det kan vara i tyskland. Nära till tunnelbanan, max 5 min promenad. känndes helt säkert att röra sig ute även sen natt. Bra och billig frukostbuffe ( 11 euro) samt säker och billig parkering på hotellet ( 8 euro per dygn).
