The Dupont Hotel - Washington DC

family of 4, sharing a double room, only got 2 bath towels, requested extra which were supplied that night but the following day we were back to 2 towels again-no communication between reception and house keeping. would like tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Very nice hotel. Recent renovation so everything appears brand new! Modern decor is beautiful. Right on Dupont Circle. Close to Metro. Two stops to many DC attractions. Perfect location. Great stay!

Initial reaction when walking into the room was great. it looked clean comfortable mondern/trendy. Bathroom had little privacy but it was still cute. There was a little window in the shower which was the only ventelation. (room got very hot when someone was in the shower) But the overall service was excellent. Door men/bell boys all were a great help. best service ever.

The hotel was very clean and stylish and the staff very polite and helpful. My room was very modern, with free, fast wi-fi. The location is great - very close to the Metro and lots of eating options. My only - minor - dislikes: 1) the bathroom layout in some of the rooms is a bit strange - the sink is in the in the main part of the room, with a glass enclosure screening off the shower and toilet, so there's not much privacy; 2) there are machines on the roof which you can hear in the inner rooms (though that didn't stop me from getting to sleep), 3) there are no coffee making facilities in the room - but they do offer free coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Overall I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back.

This hotel was a wonderful find. In DC you can't throw a rock without hitting a hotel and there are so many different neighborhoods it's very confusing. We just stayed an entire week in DC but the first part of our stay was at a smaller, cheaper hotel about 6 blocks up the street. We moved to this hotel for the last 2 nights and it was such an improvement! It is a 4 star hotel and to us the most impressive thing was the quality, kindness, attitudes of the entire staff beginning with the doormen. Every employee we encountered was absolutely first class. The rooms are very well appointed, ours not being overly large, but very clean and well designed. The hotel must have been recently renovated as the rooms are all contemporary and the bathrooms are beautifully done, granite, tile, walk-in shower. This hotel is exactly across the street from the DuPont Metro, so you can get anywhere. If you're fit and able, you can walk to Georgetown. The bus stop is also across the street. You do not need a car, in fact, its a pain to have one. I will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.

I had 2 issues - first, in a 2.5 day stay, my room was never cleaned. The staff did promptly supply me with additional towels, which is all I really needed. Second, during my stay, there was a power outage (obviously not the fault of the hotel). Following the outage, I was not able to properly adjust the therostat in my room - despite bringing this to the staff's attention, the problem was not remedied. On balance, I really like the hotel as it is a great improvement over the old Jury's; but, it is suffering a few service shortcomings.

OUR MAIN PROBLEM WAS THE BATHROOM, ALTHOUGH VERY MODERN IT WAS A BIT "PUBLIC" I.E. ALL GLASS PANELS WHICH AFFORDED LITTLE PRIVACY. THE SINK WAS ABSOLUTELY USELESS. THE STAFF, ESPECIALLY THE GUYS AT THE HOTEL RECEPTION AREA WERE VERY HELPFUL & COURTEOUS.

Had one the best stays ever at The DuPont Hotel. The comfort and uniqiness won me over. It put me in the center of everything!

This hotel is in excellent condition; the rooms and common areas are clean and well maintained. The hotel is clearly being run in European style: No tightly fitting bathroom door, no shower curtain or door (glass at the shower head end), no washcloths unless you request them. We found the bar and restaurant very pleasant, with good mixed drinks and tasty food. The staffs of both hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The Dupont Circle is a very nice location, just a one mile from the national mall, and with bus and Metro stops close at hand. Recommended!

smart floor plan. rooms are not large but are well laid out. exceptional bedding - outstanding pillows. good lighting. bathrooms have a clean modern look - cool shower.

hallways carpets needs to be cleaned. Elevators are smalls and too many people using them. No doors at bathroom so you can imagine that you hear all kind of noises coming out when someone is at WC. Great location (near Metro Station)and all kind of food services around.

The modern design of the rooms is really nice. There's so much attention to detail and the way things fit together, it was really great to see. I hate hotels where the rooms look like grandma's country house with floral patterned sheets, cheap furniture and placeholder art on the walls. This hotel was such a pleasant surprise! Our room at The Dupont hotel sported earth colored grasscloth wallpaper, ultra modern frosted glass bathroom and super comfy beds. There was also an original Saarinen table, i even flipped it over to check it out expecting a knock-off. The wooden shutters on the windows were such a nice touch too. Overall, it felt like so much attention went into the interior design of the space that it felt very comfortable, warm and relaxing! Will definitely stay there again when visiting DC in the future.

Friends and I stayed at this hotel around the time of the Cherry Blossom Festival. The hotel had just re-opened after months of renovation. The decor and fixtures in our room and the bathroom were very modern and new and the staff was friendly. However, our room was not cleaned on the last day of our stay. We would have said something to the front desk if this had happened earlier in our stay but we let it go since we were leaving the next day. The Dupont Circle location is fantastic. Very close to a subway station and lots of great restaurants nearby.

Location can't be beat for D.C. resturant going, shopping and bar hopping. Steps away from a huge farmers market. Aside from that, I know its been mentioned before, but one can't leave the Dupont without commenting on the bathrooms. Absolutely no privacy. And no bath rug for the shower...I found it strange. Beautiful, tendy, cool but strange.

The old Jury's Hotel is now the Dupont and has been greatly upgraded and modernized. New everything and well appointed rooms make this a much better experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. As a business travelop on the run, I appreciated the "no stress" attitude that was prevalent throughout the staff. I will definitely return soon and often.

Great location in the heart of Dupont Circle; really convenient to shops, restaurants and the Metro. My king-bed room was nicely decorated but a little claustrophic, especially for more than one guest. The Kiehl's toiletries were a nice touch. The bar had good wine selections and breakfast was fine, but slow service.

Outstanding hotel, beautiful, spotless,elegent, I would love to stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location next to Dupont Circle and near a Metro Red Line stop. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are stylish but quite comfortable. We had a stopped-up sink that was fixed immediately after we mentioned it. We thought the room was quite good value for the money.

Stayed at this hotel when it was part of another chain and loved it. Traditional, comfortable, location great. It's under new owners who are 'modern.' This means that the above vanity bowl sink is in the bedroom, and there is no wood door between room and bath. It's frosted glass and is NOT sound proof. Let your imagination wander. Ewwww. Hope you know your room-mate well. No tub. Shower open to toilet area and small lip between - water, water everywhere. So, not our style but I'm sure someone will like it.

Good location. Room clean. Comfortable bed. Extremely pleasant staff. Bathroom offers no privacy if you are sharing with colleague, but OK for families. Safe in room broken. Some rooms were unoccupied-missing door handles and/or locks. Needs a little TLC, but would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Dupont Hotel for 2 nights during July 4th weekend (Rm 404). Checking in & out was a breeze and the staff were all friendly. They gave us a local map and itinerary for July 4th weekend events. The hotel is right across the street from the Metro so it was convenient, with many restaurants opened late at night. A restaurant across the street from the hotel is open 24/7 on weekends. The hotel is still pretty new and walking through the halls you can smell the new carpeting. My husband and I loved the room. It's small, like a boutique hotel, and it has modern furnishings. The bed was firm and the pillows did not flatten out. The flat screen TV & chaise was nice and even the Sony Dreamcast was useful since we can charge our iPhone. The bathroom (which is an open area) had heated tiles (which was lovely) but the shower lacked a door / curtain causing water to flood out to where the toilet was. It wasn't an issue since it dried up quickly but that seemed like a poor design. Also, there weren't enough towels for two adults and I couldn't control the temperature in the shower. I like my showers HOT but the shower was only lukewarm. I think the hotel locked the faucet handle in the shower since there was hot water in the bathroom sink. Also, there's an area for a mini-bar but when we opened it up there was no fridge! It's possible the hotel is still adding it to the rooms... just seems strange. Other than that it was a lovely stay. I would stay again if I found another good deal.

If you have a rental, be prepared to pay $35 per day for valet. There's no self-parking The room was extremely small and I had a view of the other side of the hotel. The condition of the hotel was so-so. The receptionist's friendliness was not genuine. Plus: Location is good for things to do and places to eat. The decor and bar are set up well. Good location for the gay traveler. All-in-all, I would recommend another cheaper hotel.

They guys at the front desk were quite stuffy and seemed to be above everyone else, like they were doing me a favor by staying there. The hotel is in a great location, but that is about it. There are no vending machines. And just so you know, they charge your card 50 bucks a day for incidentals, not just hold it on file. I would not stay here again.

I've stayed at the Dupont prior to the renovation the air didn't work great. When I first got there they gave me a room that was small, I ordered a superior room. They changed the room for me. I was very very happy. The renovation is great, everything about it. My best time at the Dupont -3rd or 4th time. I had to ask and pay for a fridge. No in room coffee but starbucks is across the street. I'll stay there many more times. It's convenient, reasonable and friendly.

We felt the rooms were too small and we got in each others way. It would be fine for one person to stay in a standard size room, but for a couple, it was too cramped.

The Hotel Dupont more than exceeded my expectations. The rooms were amazing, incredibly comfortable and pristine. The rooms were everything you could ask for. The staff was great. They were very knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. I would definitely stay here again and would suggest it to anyone!

Room was somewhat small for 2 double beds and the bathroom was European style - no shower door. In addition, the main networks didn't work on our television. Gym stinks, no free weights although the cardio machines were nice. Location was perfect however, and it was very clean. They give you Kiehls products too!

The staff at the front desk was not knowledgeable, and not very cooperative. the elevators had problems the two days I was there. Room service did not replace all towels/etc. on day two of my stay.

Would definitely recommend this very nice hotel

The air conditioning in the room was faulty, but they tried to remedy the situation. No other rooms were available for transfer.

The rooms have been beautifully remodeled and are very comfortable. So close to the Metro that everything is truly only minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

Regularly stayed here when it was Jury's. Its been redesigned throughout with a much more boutique feel -- mid-century European feel in the lobby and a glass/minimalist vibe in the rooms. Be aware -- bathrooms replaced with glass partitions -- some privacy in the wc but otherwise quite open. Some may feel a bit uncomfortable. On the plus side, great, large showers (no bath) with a really nice massage head and fast water flow. Location is fantastic, right on Dupont Circle -- right across the stree is the best breakfast in DC -- the cafe at Kramer Books and Afterwords.

There were two things I liked about the room: the flat screen TV and the comfortable bed. Everything else was not satisfactory. The bathroom (toilet/shower) felt as though it was in the actual bedroom - separated only by glass doors. The room was small - pictures are deceiving. I should have checked the amenities but am so used to a hotel nowadays having a refrigerator and microwave, I didn't bother to check. We could have had a frig for an additional fee. However, a microwave was completely out of the question. It was disappointing, to say the least.
