Luxor Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

Not a bad hotel, comfortable rooms but watch for their $10.95 room 'tax' for a paper, water, and health club! Management/reception a bit stroppy but general staff friendly. Food, especially breakfast in the Pyramid cafe quite good with good service.

I paid for a room with a king bed & when we arrived there weren't any rooms with a king bed available. The room itself looked shabby with water stains on the walls. Also, there was a leak in the bathroom sink. The hot water wouldn't come on because the knob was broken. It took maintenance nearly 30 minutes to come to the room & another 30 minutes to fix it. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. There were no fitted sheets on the bed.

I went for my birthday and rented a Cabana and spent one entire day (out of 3) at the pool. It was so gorgeous, views of the pyramid, Mandalay Bay and "The Hotel" were amazing. I do have a complaint about the check-in. It was a ridiculously long line and very frustrating. Then my sister found another check -in desk down stairs into the west entrance and there was only two people in line!!! I was done in 10 min tops where as waiting in original line for 20 min and barely moving. Other than that the hotel was great! I also recommend hanging out at 'Cathouse' at night! Great music but each little drink (8oz plactic cup) is $12!!! So preparty before hand!!!

We had a blast in Vegas and the Luxor only added to the best vacation ever! I would highly recommend. We were given a complimentary upgrade for the same price! Well worth the money piad :)

My girlfriend and I went down to Vegas for a romantic Labor Day. We weren't able to stay at another Hotel because neither one of us are 21, but the Luxor came through. We had a room that overlooked the amazing pool, and the room was great. So comfy. I slept like a baby. And the shower, was so warm! The hotel itself is way cool looking and fun to explore. From the Luxor you can go to Mandalay Bay or the other way to Excalibur and New York, New York. The one downside, was their Pyramid Cafe. We ordered a sandwich and a bowl of soup at 2am, and it took one hour to get it. But if that's the worst thing to happen you can bet that I will be there again, and soon! I loved it!

The Luxor is a nice hotel, with friendly dealers. The only downside for us was that it's at the end of the strip - we would have preferred to be in a more central location.

The Pyramid section of the hotel is in need of remodeling from what I saw. Carpet was badly stained, wallpaper torn and water stains on the wall. The lady who checked me in was very pleasant but she was the last friendly staff member I met. In 100 + degree weather it would have been nice to have shade at the pool area, more lounge chairs and a covering for the chrome railing into the pool so it didn't feel like you would burn your hand. There was no coffee machine in the room and when I asked was told beverages were available at the bars in the casino (for a high cost).

Amazing service. Would totally stay there again! The entire staff was friendly. We had a very enjoyable experience.

Huge hotel, it took over an hour to check in as there were queues like an airport check in! Maybe we just timed it wrong arriving at 7pm on a Monday. No one warned us about the $10 per day per room resort fee. The rooms were quite spacious, clean and comfortable but there was no fridge or in room coffee. We tried a number of the hotels restaurants and they were all very good. Obviously this being Vegas it was more expensive than elsewher. A typical bottle of beer was $7! Easy access to the other local hotels through walkways. The attention to detail and the structure of the hotel is amazing!

I've been to Las Vegas many times, but this is the first time we stayed at Luxor. We've always wanted to stay in the pyramid and try the slanted rooms and slanted elevators. Those were both neat! Check-in was OK and slow, felt worse since we were all tired when arriving. When checking in, they offered a free upgrade to a Tower room. I declined as we really wanted to try the pyramid. The room was very cool, nice Egyption decor everywhere and very roomy. Shower was spacious, and not a problem with no bathtub. Very convenient to have a 24-hour McDonalds inside the pyramid to grab breakfast in the morning. Swimming pool outside was very nice and huge - kids loved it! Fitness center was big and clean, very nice and included in the Resort Fee... The only issue I had with this was the booking process with Hotels.com. I compared the room price with the hotel directly, and both were the same. Luxor showed that a resort fee would be added to cover fitness center, bottled water, newspaper, phone calls, etc. Hotels.com did not show the resort fee (initially) but an alternate tax recovery fee. Overall, a little less. Since I booked with short window, booking would be non-refundable which I was OK with. But AFTER booked and confirmed, then Hotels.com told me that the hotel would charge me a Resort fee upon check-in. I was very disappointed not seeing this before booking, so total cost was higher. I complained to Hotels.com and they compensated me back, so I will try using the website again. I hope they will have the Luxor info fixed and Resort fee mentioned before booking, so customers will have all the info up front.

If you stay at the Luxor be preparred for a 10 minute walk from your car to your room. There are about 7 turns from the front desk to the elevators. Good luck finding the elevators or someone to ask for help.

Price really goes down on Sunday. Always enjoy the great ambiance and cleanliness

Gym and Sauna should be free to Hotel Guests. $25.00 charge for using steam room is very high since you already paid $12.00 to use facilities.

For the price I paid, This was an excellent room for the money. I would recommend it to others. The only improvement needed I can think of is there was not a vent in the bathroom. Other than thay the room and hotel was great.

I originally booked a suite and when I arrived at the hotel it was pretty late in the day so they upgraded me to an even better suite! My husband and I took this trip to celebrate my 21st birthday and once we arrived in the room it was so beautiful we didn't even want to leave to do anything else. The comfort of the room was unbeatable, the views were spectacular. Everything from the Nurture bath products to the Wolfgang Puck coffee was to die for. I loved absolutely everything about this hotel and WILL stay here again!

After not going to Las Vegas,for several years I was amazed at the numbers of people packed into this huge lobby. The hotel staff looked exhausted. The room was just worn out. The furniture as well as the bed linens had all seen better days.The price to stay at the Luxor is cheap,but if I ever went back I would not stay there, The valet for the parking did amazingly well,even though they were under staffed.

Very nice and convenient. LAX is right in Luxor and a pleasant surprise was Cathouse being a really fun place.

Needs a big improvement: new paint, new carpet... People at the Front desk need to be more polite and nice. Especially with foreigners. They are not helpul and absolutly don't care of guests when they don't speak english. I will not recommend this hotel at all.

Considering the price, the basic room was alright. The area around the windows were a bit moldy and showed water damage, but the unique windows and view made up for it. There were no cups to drink with in the room. The rooms are setup uniquely around the casino and there is a tram to enter other hotels.

I stayed at the Luxor two years ago and found it to be a decent middle of the pack Las Vegas hotel. My how things have changed! The carpet in the hallways is worn and tattered, my shower had black mold, and the customer service was terrible. Then, when I checked out, I was informed of a $10.95/day fee for the bottled water and health club membership (which I never used). When I said that I was not aware of these charges and never used the water or health club the front desk person said "Don't tell me that you didn't see the 'fine print', it's right here above your signature." While the information was right above my signature, it was in a light colored print and I was never informed of the information when I signed in. I doubt if the Luxor cares, but I won't be returning.

Room was warm, air conditiong was not working well enough

This was a family getaway for 2 nights. The room was large and comfortable, but a little on the old side. Not really dirty at all, but a bit run down. Check in line was LONG and SLOW, at least a 45min line. However someone told us we could check in at the North Entrance, so we went over there and there was NO line!! We were done in 5 min. Some reviews mention the A/C not working well... but in our case it worked great! Nice pool. good restaurants, but maybe a little high priced. Shower was nice... all said it was a good stay for the money.

Although the hotel itself was impressive, the room are slightly dated. Check in takes ages, the queue was almost an hour when we arrived and was still long at 11pm. Beware that the hotel will automatically charge you $10 a day for newspapers and water!

If you want to enjoy your staying in Las Vegas DON’T BOOK THIS HOTEL. The service is very very bad, all worker are cheap, no one will help you with smile face if you don’t tip them, which is in somewhat OK but when they asked for tip and they won’t leave until they ask, you feel that you have to. To walk to your room form the entrance is very hard and some rooms have a specific elevator and you will be lucky if your room’s elevator is close from your entrance. Also, they will charge you about $13 for things that you will not need, water, newspaper, and other thing – which I believe is OK but in fact I didn’t receive any of these and the water was hot. Finally, DON’T BOOK THIS HOTEL

GOOD HOTEL AND EXCELLENT VIEW AND CLEANESS OF ROOM.

I needed to go for buisness/pleasure. It was good for my money and they poker room was great.

Check in went very quick for the length of the line. As well as check out. However there was flooding done from the floor above which lead to the floor being socked and STUCK like HELL. So NASTY!!!! The carpet was lifted in areas. I almost fell a few times. Basically the hotel is an over priced MOTEL 6. Even staying at Motel 6 would have been better that this place. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Hotel had much activity during the nights which was excellent. The ability to walk indoors thru the hotel to the adjoining Mandalay and Excalibre hotels were great to avoid the outdoor heat. Using the Tram to get to the hotels Excalibre, Luxor & Mandalay was excellent to get on the strip. The rooms airconditioning could be cooler and the bed pillows need to change.

The room needs improvement TV and carpet were old

The Luxor was excellent best staffing I have seen in Vegas and more than willing to accomodate the hotel guests request

When the neighboring hotel guests start screaming and fighting at 4:30am you feel like you are in the same room. Luxor security was fast in respondng to the situation once I called them, but they may consider filling the walls with concrete.

The bed was hard,and the room was very hot in the daytime. The A/C was not working good enough to keep the room cool!
